May 3 – September 2 The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library hosts an exhibit “Georgia on my Screen: Jimmy Carter and the Rise of the Film Industry”. Amy McGary and Kristen McGary are honored as pioneers in the Georgia Film industry. Kristen was the first Georgia woman to direct and shoot a feature film, The Adventures of Ociee Nash, that sold to a major studio (20th Cent. Fox), and Amy was the first Georgia woman to win an Emmy from the National Academy of Arts and Sciences in Art Direction for Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All.
