Growing up with an angry, abusive and self-absorbed father, a desperate and pained mother, and two rowdy older brothers, Tommy’s only salvation is his best friend, Blayne, tough and smart, and the daughter of the only Jewish family in town. Through the years, seeking a reprieve from all the adversity and animosity at the very edge of the playground underneath a massive old oak tree, a place Tommy and Blayne call Twin City, the two share their secrets, yet the ones they don’t share are the ones that may destroy them.
