Synopsis
On the run from their past, Maisie, a smart, sassy and sickly 16-year-old girl, and her 33-year-old mother, Anna Maria, find themselves stranded in a small, coastal town in Georgia after their car breaks down. With no money to pay for the repairs, Anna Maria and Maisie are forced to stay put. No longer running, they are embraced by an eccentric group of townsfolk who redefine their idea of family. When their past eventually catches up, and their secrets revealed, Anna Marie and Maisie have to decide between the new life they’ve found or continue to run.
