Davenport

CREATOR, WRITER Amy McGary

Drama | Crime Thriller | Television Series

Logline:

An emotionally guarded FBI agent returns to her rural hometown in Western New York and becomes entangled in the search for a missing girl whose disappearance is frighteningly similar to her own abduction twenty-five years earlier.

Synopsis:

A blip on the map. A one red light town somewhere between small town and nowhere tucked into the isolated landscape of Western New York. This is where FBI Agent Claire Davenport grew up – and at fifteen, where she was abducted. Found at the bottom of a ravine, broken but alive, Claire’s memory of the events leading up to and surrounding her abduction were wiped clean. However, when a young Mennonite girl disappears, the similarities to Claire’s abduction become evident, and flashes of the incident begin to jar loose from her psyche. Now, twenty-five years later, there are two mysteries to be solved.

Set in the dead of winter, Davenport draws upon the steel-blue landscape of the Icelandic thriller, Trapped, the brown-torrent of the rain-soaked streets of Seattle’s The Killing, and the bleak, grey settings and emotions of The Fall. Davenport digs deep beneath the frozen surface to uncover family secrets, deceit, and a killer hidden in plain sight.
